Considered one of the most dominant defensemen of his era, Nicklas Lidström is also considered among the greatest rearguards to ever play the game. Playing his entire 20-year NHL career with the Detroit Red Wings, Lidstrom won four Stanley Cup titles, becoming the first European captain to hoist the Cup, and was a ten-time 1st Team All-Star. He is also the first European to win the Conn Smythe and Norris Trophies, as well as just the third player in history to be named top defenseman seven times. Lidstrom is a member of the IIHF Triple Gold Club, having won Olympic and World Championship titles with Sweden. He was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2015.
