One of the most admired players in NHL history, le <Gros Bill> scored at least 25 goals in 12 of his 20 seasons and led the league in assists three times. The first winner of the Conn Smythe Trophy in 1965, Beliveau captained the Canadiens from 1961 until his retirement in 1971. He was a member of 10 Stanley Cup-winning teams. He was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1972.
